Many Masters, of course, actively seek to destroy any and all sense of dignity and self-esteem on the part of their slaves. Unlike such Masters, I'm concerned to instil in my slave both a sense of absolutle humility and selflessness as well as a sense of heightened dignity and worth. After all, my slave is my prized possession, the apple of my eye. As my prized possession, I expect my slave to regard itself as being of the highest value and worth and as being possessed of a superabundance of dignity. My practice of mastery is therefore one which involves simultaneously lowering my slave as well as exalting it. Consequently, I take great pains to make sure that when I degrade my slave I degrade only its sense of egotistical pride rather than its sense of dignity.
